Reading this a bit late from the time you posted, but your words really hit a sympathetic spot in me. I was convicted of a petty theft I stupidly plead guilty to (I was taking/eating food in my grocery store I worked in that was considered "waste". IE: it was past the sellable date but still perfectly good and I was BROKE and STARVING it KILLED me to throw away the food so I took it home even though that was not allowed). I thought being honest would help me, instead it hurt me and they raked me over the coals because I admitted to anything when everyone else was lying about it. That was in 2010, 8 years later I'm still struggling to get work because literally everyone and their DOG does background checks. MN had the strictest laws, too, until recently which made expungement impossible when I first tried a few years after my case. Hoping to try again soon but the 1-3k it costs to remove it from the record is HARD TO GET when you CAN'T GET WORK!!! I'm a good person with good college grades and I had to give up my major (child care) because they don't hire. I can't even get a job WALKING DOGS because they do background checks! The system doesn't rehabilitate, it makes people MORE likely to have to resort to crime because no one forgives! I've heard of people blocked from jobs for 15 yr convictions in falling behind in child support.

It's ridiculous! I love the internet but it's ruined some things. Had a job offer on the spot without even an interview due to my work history and personality, passed the drug test, failed the background check. I have a 3.96 GPA. I don't drink. I don't do drugs. I'm a kind person that everyone loves. I'm sorry I was starving!! If I could go back in time I wish I'd just DIED instead of eating food that was going to the dumpsters, have pity on me!!!! :(

My roommate had just died, I'd spent a lot of money moving in with her then back OUT since she died 3-4 months into living together and my dad was dying, he died the day I got fired. My life has been a living hell. I'm not even sure I can go on a vacation to Japan I've been invited onto because THEY ask for criminal convictions on the landing card on the plane and can deny you at the gate.

Everything is uncertain, and I hate it. I'm so suicidal and depressed. What do they want from us if no one will give us a chance?

Great job! I don’t understand why sponsors haven`t interested in this team. It seems to me that team obsessed with baseball. I know that even one of the Ukrainian team is sponsored by the powerful centre for human reproduction. And nowadays biotexcom baseball team participates in the international baseball championships. I believe that Long Beach State Baseball Club also should find good sponsor which help them to provide such opportunities. Hope that soon this baseball club will find own sponsor.

Kentaro was a fine young gentleman. He & my son attended Catholic school together since the 1st grade & all the way thru SJB H.S. & CSULB. He was an impressive, polite & respectable individual. He is truly missed. Anyone of us St. Pius/SJB H.S. parents would be proud to call him our own son. Godspeed Ken, gone but not forgotten.

Beachnet+ on 802.11n 2T2R MIMO on 5 GHz band gets consistent 300Mbps link speed and very low ping on speedtest.net but Internet speed is nothing worthy to write about.

I connected to Beachnet+ at 300Mbps link speed, 5 GHz band and the internet speeds are still super slow. I did a speed test and results are only 1 Mbps up and down. The engineering dept hogs all the bandwidth since the speed they get there is 80 Mbps both up and down on 1 Gbps ethernet.

I second this. I have been approached by over 20 men in the course of a week -- most of them persistent. It makes me feel annoyed that I can't simply relax and work, with headphones, or talk to a man without getting hit up. I have told all, when asked, that I have a boyfriend, but that hasn't stopped them...
Some highlights:
1. A guy I call "drippy eyes" since he has puss/discharge flooding out of his red eyes. He is balding and spends his days searching for women on the Internet with photos of himself 20 years old. I was kind to him, said hello, helping him plug in his laptop. That lead to proclamations that he was in love with me, stalking, attempts to get in my car, demands I leave my boyfriend for him since no one would treat me better than he would and then tears when I rejected him, claiming I clearly didn't love Jesus if I didn't want him.
2. A guy I call "Idiot savant" who bothered me every few seconds. Got my email/phone number and called me every few minutes and then harassed me to find out what I didn't respond immediately. Used to follow me everywhere, refuse to stop talking when he found a seat next to me, and positioned himself in front of me massaging his "man boobs" as some kind of sexual signal.
3. An Arab who stared at me. When asked why he was staring -- "because you are beautiful."
4. An old man who wanted to babble about the theory of relativity and his 1,000 page book, and just giddily chatted away until I got up and left.
5. A middle aged mfter an whom I kindly engaged in conversation -- along the lines of nodding and smiling. He asked me to add him on Facebook. I never did. He kept showing up, introduced me to his kids, stalked me...
6. A guy complimented me -- in response to thank you, got asked for my phone number. I said no but I'd take his. He gave me his, asked for mine anyway and said "I want to get to know you." No specific reason. He just saw me at Starbucks and thought, what the heck.
7. Funny black guy starts chatting in seat across from me. I laugh...and then leave..He follows me out, gets my name.."I'm X...who are you?" Then tracked me down every time he saw me there.
8. I asked one guy for a quarter for a phone call. He refused and was nasty about it. Every time he saw me after that he said, "hey, baby..." and only left me alone after I ignored him and met his "hey, baby" with silence.
9. A Korean guy asked me out because I reminded him of someone he saw on TV. In that same conversation, he proclaimed his love and asked me to marry him.
10. I said hello to a happy,smiley Hispanic man..he said, "I love America! You the woman for me. I love you" and then followed me to my car everytime thereafter.
11. An Asian who didn't speak English always came over and enthusiastically said, "hello" (the only word in English he speaks.) I said hello back. Then he tried to follow me to my car as if I were a prostitute. He thought my wave of goodbye was a come hither, let's get it on.
One time I actually had four men all trying to get my attention at once..and here I was just trying to work and be productive. Strangely, after I laid down the law and told a few of these guys off...other guys would avoid me like the plague...like when I sat down, men would get up and walk away, rudely...So, men do talk...
It's like...you have to put with this garbage, leave, or they retaliate.
It's a sad statement of men..it's like we, as women, are interchangeable and that you keep trying each woman indiscriminately until one woman says yes. I had nothing in common with any of these men and can only imagine they wanted me for one thing (which they didn't get.) Granted, I am nice, have empathy, smile, and am a good listener..but I did not encourage them nor dress provocatively.
At first it freaked me out...now I just laugh about it...here they come again. I think nothing of getting up and walking away mid-babble...and just ignoring them, instead of politely listening...Seems like you have to walk into Starbucks with a huge wall around you or they descend upon you like locusts. I have seen the old male regulars leer at sweet young things...and smile like wolves eying steaks.
There might be a few exceptions, but generally I don't think Starbucks is the place where you are going to meet quality men.

I'm convicted of 3rd degree misdemeanor petty theft charge and it has ruined my already hard life. my self esteem is much lower and my confidence is out the window. I hate I ever did it and now I feel I won't get a job cause the employers won't trust me. but that's not who I am. I'm not that person. I just made a stupid decision. and I live in Alabama wherethere is no expunged so I'm stuck with this for the rest of my life. its hard.
